Gods Love

Romans 5:6-8 NIV

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
His love for you and for me.
It wasn't the things that He'd done wrong,
for He had no sin of His own.
It wasn't the feel of the cross on His back,
that made Him shudder and groan.
It wasn't just the thorns on His blood stained brow
or the way He was taunted, tormented, and how,
as He staggers up toward Calvary now.
It was His love for you and for me.
It wasn't the jibes or the taunts or the sneers,
That caused His body to ache.
It wasn't the crowd that bayed for His blood,
That caused His heart to break.
Standing there still, His back all bare,
as they lashed Him with thongs to tatter and tare,
No it wasn't the straps that held Him there,
It was His Love for you and for me.
It wasn't the nails that tore through His hands,
or the nail that tore through His feet.
Or the soldiers there, as they threw the dice,
for His tunic so seamless and neat.
or His bones like jelly, and a dry arid thirst,
or the terrible feeling His lungs had burst.
or the fact that men, threw at Him there worst,
It was His Love for you and for me
It was us, that caused Him to die on that cross,
for all the wrong things we have done.
In thought word and deed, in going our own way,
With Adam and Eve it begun.
To Him now confess, and from wrong things part.
Please Turn to Him, and give Him your heart.
With Peace and Joy He'll give you a new start.
It's His Love for you and for me.
